If you're learning to read Chinese, you need the three "P"s: perspiration, patience, and practice.
Perspiration: learning to read Chinese will take time and effort. Anyone who says otherwise is either lying to you or trying to sell you something.
Patience: some days, you'll feel really good about your progress. Other days you'll feel like you haven't learned a thing. Only the patient reach the goal: learning to read Chinese.
Practice: you have to use it or you'll lose it. Learning to read Chinese takes lots of practice (preferably every day). The more you practice reading sentences, articles, and texts the better.
